We bought this 9 years ago and everything still works perfectly. It has faded some and not quite as “pretty” as a new one but still suits our needs.

Almost perfect for my needs…
Updated 4/20/2019: I’ve had this bench for over 2 years now and it still looks like new. It’s held up well and keeps the rain out that often blows through the porch, despite being covered. The delivery folks are usually pretty good about placing packages in it, except for the few that simply set the package in plain view, right smack at the top of the steps in the classic “please steal me” position.I’ve been planning on getting a cushion for it because it is a bit hard to sit on. Other than that, it’s a great bench.At some point, I plan to paint it to address the color issue that I cited in the original review below._________________________________________________________________________________________Original review…………………Now that I have a real front porch, I wanted a place where I could not only sit, but provide a place for package deliveries where they would be out of sight since thefts have been on the rise.This bench fit the bill almost perfectly.The bench itself is nice and sturdy. I’ve stood on the seat and haven’t noticed any flexing. Granted, I’m not a big guy, but it seems like it would hold someone heavier than me with no issue.The storage area is plenty large for what I planned for it: a place to put packages that arrive when I’m not home. Other than a few excessively large items, everything fits in it with room to spare.So, what’s not to like?For one, I really wish there was a white option. It would match the trim colors of my house a bit better, especially the railings around the porch. Plus, the style of it would better reflect that cape cod style that it’s try to emulate in white. I didn’t subtract a star for that, though.What I did subtract a star for is the lack of provisions to secure it to a porch or other surface. I ended up screwing it to the floor of the porch because the high winds we get on our hill makes it wander all around the porch when the storage compartment is empty. The light weight coupled with the large size makes it slide around the porch in the wind. At the very least, some dedicated grommet spots for running screws through that would be stronger than the bottom panel overall would be welcome.Overall, I’m happy. It accomplishes the things I needed it to and it’s easy to clean (especially after stepping on the seat with my dirty work boots).

Hard-working Play Storage
Since we bought this patio bench in June 2009, it has held up to three kids, three moves, 36 seasonal changes, including two record-breaking winters of 81″ and 110″ of snow. During MA’s Snowmageddon 2015, the bench was buried under almost 7 feet of snow. That’s 2,190 days of weather and family ab/use. Our next-door neighbors were so impressed with our unit, they bought one for their family patio, too.The bench is easy to assemble right out of the box. No tools are required as all the pieces simply snap into place. That’s an important feature to consider for outdoor equipment that is exposed to the elements year round – you won’t have pieces that rust and discolor the unit, your deck or clothes, or the stored items. The top can be popped off for seasonal cleaning. We splash on some Murphy’s Oil Soap, scrub, hose down and air dry.Although we wrap mitts and other soft-textured items in large Ziploc storage bags, the bench is remarkably waterproof. Even torrential downpours barely penetrate the casing with only nominal water in the honeycombed base. It’s a solid piece of outdoor furniture, despite the snap-in-place construction, easily holding two adults without the top buckling. Summer heat hasn’t caused any warping, either, while the light color prevents skin contact heat burns.This was a big-ticket purchase that has more than proved its worth. The Suncast Patio Bench is a good investment for your family’s outdoor needs. Highly recommended.NOTE: Still using this patio bench as of June 2017!

Kind of disappointed
We owned a Suncast storage container for many years and sat on it, but it was not the bench style. It held up remarkably well, so I decided to order this more decorative bench to replace it. It is all right, but it is not near the thickness or quality of the old container. The bench part only fastens closed in the center which is where most people sit on it, so the sides bow up which allows “critters” to get inside, plus it doesn’t have a nice clean straight look to it. We are not extremely heavy people, but it doesn’t hold the weight of an adult like the old container did (which was NOT designed as a bench, but we sat on it). It’s okay, but I was rather disappointed that they quality was not the same as what we had from Suncast previously.

We like the built in storage and it looks good on our patio,The only negative thing was the delivery,It took several weeks longer than expected for the delivery, (was supposed to be July 29th, ended up getting it August 3rd),As we didnât know when it was going to be delivered, we werenât home and the truck didnât leave it, we had to drive across town to the trucking depot to pick it up,Otherwise we are very happy with the product
