I have never had a solar light this size, so I cannot speak to the cost, whether or not $159.00 is a fair price of not.However, I had put off reviewing this until we had more than a day of sunshine, which seems to have forgotten about Central PA. At any rate, enough is enough, so I unboxed it only today (packed extremely well, by the way) not having known that one can test a solar light.Then I read the directions. Always a good idea.There is really no assembly, unless you are going to install it in concrete, which is probably a good idea, as it is heavy and vertical and we also get some high winds here occasionally. Heavy duty bolts are provided, and there is also a remote control.This is very classy looking.In the first it just taking it out of the box, and it stands alone, very sturdy. The second picture it is lit because, per the instructions, I covered it with a wooden cutting board. There are different brightness levels.So – recommended for sure. I am anxious to get it outside. Itâs a light, not illuminating
I had hoped this would provide lighting as well as look good. Turns out, it mostly looks good but does not really light up the surrounding area very well. If you want lighting and not just a decoration, this may not work out for you.It is well built and comes with needed mounting hardware. Unlike a lot of other lighting I have checked out, this one does include the proper bolts for mounting in concrete. I mounted mine to a 2×2 foot concrete step I purchased at Home Depot.Not a lot more to say about this. Itâs not what Iâd hoped, but it is good for what it apparently is – a decoration.

This comes with the light, mounting bolts, Allen wrench, remote control, and instructions for the remote and for mounting the light.The Allen wrench is to remove the base of the light, then the base is bolted to the surface you’re using, then the light is put back onto the base, and the bolts tightened with the Allen wrench.The remote control has a plastic tab to keep the battery from being drained during shipping, and you havevto pull it out or the remote won’t work. The remote turns it on and off, sets a timer to turn it off after 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours, and brightens or dims the light. It’s not stepless, you press it for each level of bright or dim; pressing and holding only moves it one step.There’s a bulb inside and a white opaque window on each of the four sides. It’s a diffused white light because of the opaque windows. It brightens the area around it pretty well because of the size (32 inches) and the vertical alignment.The solar panel at the top charges it during the day, and it comes on when it gets dark.It looks nice and brightens the area.

The look and quality of a high-end 120v powered landscape fixture without the hassle of wiring
The look and quality of a high-end 120v powered landscape fixture without the hassle of wiring. While not as bright as the 120v fixtures, it is more than adequate for a pathway light or location marker. It runs from dusk to dawn with a sunny day of charging. Have not evaluated winter performance yet but I expect it to do at least as well as the low-end solar lights I have that make it about 6 hours during the winter. Quality materials and construction – but comes at a pretty high price point – higher than some comparable 120v models. However, when you factor in the simplified installation, especially for a location which is remote from a power source, it may be worth it.

This is a beautiful solar pathway light. It lights up a whole area. Itâs great to use and all it needs is sunshine. Definitely recommend buying this light. Very easy to assemble just put the light in the sun. The package does fine with screws to input in the ground.

Has a really neat and modern look. Like something you would see outside of a house made of cement or something. We live in the country so it stands out like seeing the Monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey.I wanted to test out the light first before we permanently mounted it, and it was cool looking. The material for the panels felt a little fragile though, but the rest of the light felt a lot more sturdy.There’s a plate on the bottom that you can secure to wood or cement and it was easy to position, so when we do find a more solid spot for it I don’t expect any difficulties.Solar charging worked fine, and it lasted mostly through the night.I love the look of it. It’s pretty pricey though. Would cost a pretty penny to get good coverage with this on a porch or walkway.
