Impressive triple umbrella. Very clever design. Packs up very small.
This umbrella is extremely large. It’s one thing to see that it’s listed as being 6 ft by 13 ft and another to see it in person. It’s very impressive. And quite easy to install surprisingly.The umbrella only required for me to put two tube sections together. The string and the crank were already installed and there is a metal pin on a chain that you put into the tube above the crank. This is what will allow it to open and close.It’s a really neat design where the middle part of the umbrella helps unfold the other two sections on either side. At first I didn’t quite know how to get it to open up and thought that I had to push it up by hand. However, it turns out that by sliding up only the middle section on the pole, it just has to reach high enough for the metal pin to go through the tube where there are one of two holes to choose from. Then once the metal pin is in place you can just use the crank to open and close it.This umbrella also includes a tie on the outside for when it’s not in use. This is appreciated. Where I live as we do sometimes get some pretty heavy winds.The material of the umbrella is a little bit thinner than some other canvases meant for outdoors. It was in perfect condition but isn’t as thick as for example a canopy cover might be. I haven’t had a chance to see how it holds up in rain yet.We are actually using this umbrella as a place to eat next to our grill. The area where it’s going is still a work in progress, but what I’m really happy about is the height of this allows for it to work really well over the grill or table area. It’s nice that you can rotate it if it’s in a stand as well since it is an oval shape. That gives you some flexibility to deal with weather if needed.The ribs of the umbrella section appear to be metal which makes me think that it would hold up over time. The crank appears to have a white braided cord. The crank itself seems to operate well considering how large this umbrella is. I also believe that that might be why the canvas seems a bit thinner since it is a much larger area being covered.Overall, I am very impressed with the area it covers. The amount of shade that you can get and the height are great because it won’t be getting in the way of most outdoor activities. When folded it is very small and takes up very little space, especially when tied. It is very easy to store making it practical for when you want to cover a large area but want to easily be able to put it away during winter. Overall it’s a very clever design as well and it works flawlessly. The first thing you think when you see it is what will they come up with next?

Finally more than 2 people can sit under the umbrella out by our pool
We have a fenced pool area with only 1 umbrella holder slot in the middle of the deck at one end of the pool, so when we put up a standard 6′ umbrella, it only provides enough shade for 1 or maybe 2 chairs or loungers. There’s always juggling to see how many we can squeeze underneath the umbrella and others are left either half covered or out in the sun with no protection. However, with this 6.7′ x 13′ umbrella, we can easily fit 4 or more chair under the umbrella. Hurray! Now we can all get out of the sun if needed. Because of it’s size, I was worried it would be bulky, heavy and hard for me to handle because I’m often the one setting it up by myself, but it’s very manageable and can easily be installed and opened up by one person.The umbrella itself is well made and with proper care, should last for several seasons. The string to tie it closed when not in use is very handy and helps keep it together when storing in the pool closet when not in use. The fabric is a little lighter weight than my other standard umbrellas, but so far it hasn’t been an issue and actually seems to allow a little more airflow which is helpful in hot, summer temps. The only things that would make it better would be a tilting feature and a pole expander sleeves since the pole is a little narrower than the PVC opening I slide my poles into, so it wobbles unless I wedge something in the side to keep it from shifting around in there.Overall, its a well made, very functional, easy to set up umbrella that provides an abundance of shade. I feel like its a little pricier than competitors with similar or same umbrellas, so its a good value but not an outstanding value. If it ever goes on sale, I’ll snap up a couple more.
