ANNE –
lots of blooms
These seeds were scattered on the empty flower bed and bloomed like crazy. When they go to seed I harvest them and reseed in spring, but many volunteered to come up again anyway. Quite hardy plants, they self seed and a few came up in the driveway cracks! Beautiful red flowers are cheerful and attract pollinators. They thrived here in Zone 3 northern Wisconsin and blooming in the patch lasted over a month. very happy

Low germination
It seems like a lot of seeds, but it’s not. We got pretty low germination results in conditions where California Golden Poppies thrive.

50,000 poppy seeds
Well, Iâll follow up this review if there are actually 50,000 flowers this summer! Microscopic sized seeds. They probably could have used a smaller ziplockâ¦but then the âhello my name isâ sized sticker would have been too big⦠ha! Iâm in zone 6, so will scatter them around in mid-April.Follow up. Seems that I canât grow poppies. I have a thousand tomatoes coming off of 12 plants, a pepper decided to grow, the basil is absolutely awesome, sunflowers are 8â tall, the zucchini is a low producer (thankfully), the beets mostly went immediately to flower, the tomatoesâ¦did I already mention thoseâ¦? Nothing popped up in the poppy spot. I bought a 3-lb bag of random flower seed from Amazon – gobs of weird green jungle-ish hedge-worthy green leaves, but only one flower by Labor Day weekend.
