Offset Umbrella
I recently bought this umbrella, so I can’t speak to its wind resistance or how well it holds up against color fading just yet. That said, it’s a great value for the price. It folds up into a nice, compact size and opens up with ease. Assembly wasn’t too tough, but I did run into a few issues along the way. The instructions couldâve been clearerâespecially about where exactly to tighten the rope (Iâve added a photo to help others avoid the same confusion, which is why Iâm giving it 4 stars instead of 5). I gave it a shot first, then my daughter jumped in to help, but it wasnât until my son got involved that we finally got it right.The sandbag and overt-covers are solid and durable. My only complaint is that the Velcro opening could be a little widerâit was a bit tricky to fill them without spilling some sand.As you can see in the pictures, it provides perfect shade for my space!

07/14/2020 UPDATED REVIEW: The CEO of Wikiwiki contacted me so quickly after my 7/5 updated review. He apologized, explained the construction improvements to the hinge (that broke on my umbrella) after my initial purchase, and without hesitation told me he was sending me a new umbrella at no cost to me. WOW! I am so impressed with this company and their customer service. I received the replacement umbrella – it’s already up and ready to go in my yard. Thanks again to the CEO for providing me with exceptional customer service!07/05/2020 UPDATED REVIEW: the umbrella has been great…but not anymore. Regardless of the umbrellaâs position (fully open and perpendicular to the ground or angled), I just discovered a severe crack in the hinge/joint where the vertical pole and the arched pole intersect. The crack is so bad itâs just a matter of time before it will be unusable. I am SO DISAPPOINTED! The hinge/joint is plastic – perhaps thatâs the problem. I don’t know, but a 10ft umbrella should have more robust parts! I purchased this in May – only lasted 2 months. Grrrr!!! Added photo to show the crackUPDATED REVIEW: Upon my negative review, the company (Wikiwiki) contacted me. They appreciated my recommendation to revise their advertisement to clearly call out the separate base needed and indicated they are working to make that adjustment. They also reminded me of the shipping delays due to cover 19, which I appreciate. They were very generous and customer service â focused. While I am still waiting for the separate bass that I ordered to fully utilize the umbrella, I am confident it will work fine and the umbrella will be just what I wanted. Thanks to the Wikiwiki company for their amazing customer service!ORIGINAL REVIEW: This umbrella is advertised âas isâ meaning you donât need anything else. Even the pictures show the umbrella standing upright, umbrella fully open, with the X base supporting it. Wrong! You need to purchase a separate base at a cost of $100 to support the umbrella being fully open. In small print I discovered that after I purchased the umbrella and set it up. I was disheartened that the manufacturer did not clearly advertise that the umbrella would not work until you bought the separate base.It took 8 days to get the umbrella. And it will take another 11 days to get the base. I find that shipping time to be ridiculous. I actually ordered the base on April 27, and it hasnât even been shipped yet and today is May 4.

Love the color. Everything was as advertised. The instructions, once again, too small to see details of things like… How to feed light wire through tiny hole on top before it is too late. I do wish the entire thing would swivel. There are a few reviews on the site for a previous version that was not so great but the new version fixed all those issues as far as I can see. For the price, I am very pleased. It does get a little active with winds of 25mph plus, as expected.

Worms versus Umbrella. You decide. Gen Z kid can’t help.
Every single one of our shade trees succumbed to a disaster called wood bore worms. Every tiny leaf perished at the wiggly wrath of worms. With no trees for shade, our backyard was at the mercy of full, hot, unadulterated, level 11 UV sunlight. Please understand that our UV rays go all the way up to 11. After sweltering beside the pool in this warm hell, some genius (me. Yes, as I recall it was me) declared necessary relief. Sweat beads dripped from our chins as we nodded in agreeance. We needed some shade. Isn’t the word “agreeance” spelled peculiarly?Since we already had a table and set of chairs, we didn’t need to purchase another table with the built in umbrella. We needed an independently standing structure and chose this product. Please be aware that this product includes the umbrella with an offset arm. The base must be purchased separately. More on that “laters”, if you know what I mean. I embrace the term “Laters” myself as it feels light and airy and playful, while retaining it’s grammatically incorrect intrigue. We chose a color matching our existing chairs.Fortunately there is another member of our household who realized that it’s absolutely necessary to purchase a stand to support the umbrella. Imagine that. (That’s the “laters” part). Had that realization not occurred, we would be sitting outside, under our Amazon purchased “wikiwiki Offset Umbrella 10 ft Cantilever Patio Umbrella Hanging Market Umbrella Outdoor Umbrella” while the 14 year old kid of ours failed at her attempt to wrestle the umbrella in the wind that is no longer broken by the trees that were eaten by bore worms. We saw all that coming so we purchased the bases. The base was sold separately in a set of four (about $80) which we filled with sand. Take our advice, and use a nice clean funnel to fill the bases with 40 pounds of sand each. Base weight with sand was sufficient to provide ample structure for the umbrella. We’re still talking about the umbrella, right?I researched to find that for every 1 foot of umbrella, 10 pounds of support weight is necessary. Of course, we can argue physics all day but I’d rather not since I’m partial to chemistry. Apparently, under normal circumstances, one needs 10 pounds of base weight for 1 foot of umbrella circumference.
