Plant cutters are made for normal hands, other tools are made from light and very hard alloy.
These tools except cutters are made from an interesting alloy. By weight they are just slightly heavier than aluminum, but the material is so sturdy that I wasn’t able to bend mini rake or trowels. I have an aluminum scoop from another set and it is very easy to bend it if you are working with slightly harder clay soil. These 2 trovels and mini rake are rock hard if compared to my old trowel. One of the trowels has a stamped inch ruler on the blade. This comes very helpful if you need to plant at specific depth. Tool handles are made from rubberized plastic and have holes for wall hanging. Cutters have curved blades. They are slightly smaller than my other cutters but they fit into my hand perfectly. And since they are smaller they can be operated with one hand. Jaws are made from steel as they attract magnets.

Lightweight but of robust construction
For the price, my expectations were not the highest but these FrutPunch brand gardening tools deliver. Got these mostly for the wife – she is the gardener in the household. In limited use so far, she fully approves.The four-piece set includes a 3 inch trowel, 2.5 inch transplanter with graduations in inches and centimeters, a three finger cultivator, and shears. The tools are roughly 11 inches long and the shears are approximately 7 inches.Except for the shears, the tools are made of aluminum. I measured the trowel and cultivator with a decent vernier caliper and got an average thickness of .063 of an inch at the edges (1/16 of an inch for those that like fractions). The fingers on the cultivator measure approximately .30 inch square (a little less than 5/16 of an inch). Plenty hardy enough for gardening use. The machining on the tools is good with no sharp edges or other visible flaws.The shears are of bypass design and of steel construction. Nice and sharp out of the box. Although lightweight and primarily intended for soft stem use, I had no trouble trimming 1/8 to ¼ inch diameter woody stems on some hardy hibiscus.Each tool has a plastic handle with a rubberized covering. The grips are of good size and comfortable in the hand. Well affixed too – tried to pull one apart with no success. No sharp edges or plastic flashing on the handles to contend with.Nothing in the Amazon description, and nothing in or on the packaging, about a warranty.For a frame of reference, I would put these tools well above the dollar store / big box home improvement store / WallyWorld entry level schlock but not quite up to Fiskars. A nice selection of reasonable quality tools at an affordable price. If you use them for what they are designed to do, I would expect many years of service. By my rating hierarchy, these tools earn four stars. Good value, above average quality, but nothing to warrant a five star exceptional rating. Surprisingly durable
My household is trying to get into gardening (better late than never) and the first “gardening tool set” I got was simply put too cheap, I saw these say “heavy duty” and figured I’d give them a shot to see if they are actually heavy duty and to my pleasant surprise they really are!The tools are true to size and the rubberized grips feel good in the hand the holes in the back of the tools will fit over straight nails used as hooks but I have curved hangars that they don’t fit on so easily so I looped a small bit of paracord through them. The tines rake are beefy, the trowel/shovel are thick enough that they don’t give in hard clay dirt, and the pruners work on our succulents and a weird rose bush of ours that despite our neglect is surviving.I’m not sure these tools will “buy it for life” but I expect to get at least a few seasons out of themBottom Line: Great kit of beginner tools for gardening.
