    Great with one major FLAW
Update: After Beatbot saw the original review, they offered a full refund even though I had owned it for two months. I took them up on the offer and changed the review to reflect the outstanding service I received. It’s nice to see a company do so much to make sure their customers have a good experience. I plan on giving the AquaSense 2 Pro version a try and seeing if it gets the fine dirt off the floor. Outside of this issue, it was a great machine.I used a Maytronics Dolphin robotic pool cleaner for 15 years before getting the Beatbot AquaSense 2, so my comments are a comparison to the Dolphin. I have an inground gunite pool with a pebble surface, multiple steps, benches, and shallow areas. The pool is also an odd shape. The Good:- No cord running through the pool and yard.-Smarter at navigating the pool and getting into tricky spots, but still misses some corners and can’t get on some shelves-Comes to the surface/edge when done-Phone app to set and track cleaning. Easy to use and get notifications when done cleaning, needs a charge, etc…-Easy and quick to hose out the basket. Much easier than my old cleaner-Plenty of battery power to clean the pool and walls in one chargeThe Bad:-The basket has coarse mesh in it. All the fine dirt, pollen, and sand are just pumped off the bottom up into the pool, making the water cloudy-When at the bottom of the pool, it can’t connect to wifi, so there is no way to control itOverall, it’s a great cleaner with one major flaw. Their higher-end models have an extra filter cartridge that can be inserted to get the fine dirt, so they must be aware of this major shortcoming. Considering the list price of this thing is $1600 they should have included it on this model. Even with all the good in this cleaner I strongly recommend not getting it. It took several extra weeks to get the pool clear for the season compared to my old cleaner. I would run this cleaner, which pumps all the fine dirt into the water, making it cloudy. Some gets filtered out by the pool filter but much of it just sinks back to the bottom. Potentially, their more expensive cleaners with the extra fine filter is worth trying. Stay away from this one.

    Works great and no cord!!
I’ve only used my beatbot a couple of times since receiving it but so far it appears to work great. I had a little problem pairing it but after I did so, it cleaned great. I used it one time on just the floor and the second time on the whole pool. It appeared to do the floor first, then the walls and finally the tile at the waterline. The pool looks great. Also, it releases most of its water when it is finished and thus it is much easier to take out of the water. It is easy to clean and comes with a charging stand that is very easy to use. The other thing I really like is that there is no cord and so my skimmer can operate at the same time as the sweep!

    Worth the money.
Best investment ever!! I can’t believe I wasted money in a corded vacuum and couple of years ago. What a hassle that was. This vacuum is the best!! My floors and walls have never been cleaner. If you are going back and forth like I did a couple of years ago, don’t waste your money on a corded vacuum, just go ahead and spend the extra money, cause you are going to eventually. Well worth the cost of not having to unwind a cord constantly, and just sitting back and watching the pool clean itself with the little helper!! Totally worth the price. Although was a little disappointed to see as soon as mine arrive they had a sale of about 300$ off what I paid. But oh well, still happy with the product, it is saving me time and energy. Love, love, love It!!!

    Complete junk
Honestly shocked that this thing has such good reviews, it doesn’t live up to any of its claims. The “extra” features like app notifications and parking have literally never worked once. It’s always disconnecting from the WiFi despite having an access point close by. It gets stuck about 1/5 of the times I run it, other times it stops because the basket is full despite being nearly empty. The worst part is it’s not good at cleaning at all, even after running it 3 times in a day, it still hasn’t cleaned everything and leaves entire areas untouched that my old (but now broken) robot had no problems with.

  5. Jonna

    Best Pool Vacuum
I ordered this when our first one but the dust. I researched, talked to my pool guy and finally decided on this cordless system. I am thrilled with the performance. It even crawled up my stairs to vacuum so call me impressed.System was super easy to set up and charge and the filter was super easy to get to and clean. If I could give this 10 stars I would. The company is also phenomenal to work with. When the delivery had been delayed I reached out and the gave me a small refund as their way of apologizing for the delivery delay. Can’t get much better customer service than that in my book.

    Honest purchase honest review
I have owned this for almost a week and have ran it three times. Battery life is good 3 to 4 hours. It moves slower than some robots so I guess it is more methodical in its cleaning. Does a good job cleaning and climbing. My pool was fairly clean already, Since I just had it acid washed and the tile bead blasted. I briefly had a Wybot which was around an $800 unit that I sent back, because the runtime was so short and when it ran out, it would just die wherever it was in the pool mostly on the deep end. The Beatbot seems to do a very good job of cleaning And when it’s completed, it comes to the surface edge and floats. i’m not convinced it’s doing a great job cleaning my stairs yet because I haven’t seen it on the stairs. It seems to go around the waterline very nicely and the walls and of course the floor. It never get stuck anywhere. I do like the app it’s easy to navigate and change programs. From low battery to fully charged takes about three hours. I have three steps going into the pool and the ledge and the grotto and so far these seem to be staying clean, so it must be hitting them. I know it briefly hit them as it’s climbing the wall and cleaning the waterline and I haven’t had to brush them off manually. at this point, I would give it a 4 1/2 stars because it’s done pretty much everything I expected and has a good run time.

  7. Layklant

I was initially worried that my pool’s extremely steep slope would confuse the robot, but to my surprise, it navigates perfectly and cleans every corner effortlessly. The performance is simply sensational – it climbs, turns, and covers the entire pool without any issues. On top of that, the customer support is excellent: responsive, helpful, and genuinely interested in making sure everything works smoothly. Highly recommended!

  8. Zanie

Very efficient robot! Have it for about 2 weeks and so far no complaints.I did a lot of research and I have no regrets! It’s super complete with its functions.

  9. will

I’m thrilled that I was able to finally try this robot – I’ve had it in my garage for almost 2 months and was just anxiously waiting for warm weather to come so I could finally give it a proper test. Happily I can report that this thing does not disappoint – it’s absolutely amazing! The Beatbot AquaSense 2 is the least expensive of the current lineup, but in my opinion offers the best value for the money, especially if you have a simple pool without multiple levels or really complicated shape. For my rectangular pool this is a great choice. It’s capable of cleaning both the floor, the walls and even scrubbing the waterline of the pool. So far, I think I will usually run it in the floor only mode as that’s where all the debris collects. In this mode the bot doesn’t try to climb the walls – use the multi zone mode the bot for walls and waterline. This is also the mode to use if you have different levels in your pool. One thing missing on the AquaSense 2 that is available on the AquaSense Pro and Ultra models is the surface skimming mode. I have another skimmer that does a good job, and for me the additional expense wasn’t worth it. If you want a do-it-all solution, the Pro or Ultra might be a better choice, but there is really a big $ difference between these models. The battery life is excellent. These machines are capable of cleaning really large pools and I can run a cleaning cycle 2-3 times in my pool without recharging. I also really like how this model charges – it comes with a charging base that plugs into the power outlet and once you need to recharge the robot, you just place it on the base. No cables to plug in, no errors about wet connector. Works like a charm! The machine comes with an app that allows controlling the robot, selecting cleaning modes etc. Of course the app looses connectivity once the bot is cleaning under water, but it is still a very convenient option. As far as drawbacks go then number one is the size of the filter basket. The AquaSense 2 has a 2 liter basket, which can get full quite quickly when there is a lot of debris in the pool. My pool is rather average size (just under 300 sqm), so it’s not that big of an issue, but I’d imagine that if you have a big pool with trees around it, you might need to empty the basket mid cycle. The Pro and Ultra models do have larger baskets (almost twice as large and also offer finer, 2 stage filter mesh).Another area where I’d like to see improvement is the inability to direct the bot when it’s under water – I wish there was some way to adjust the cleaning parameters or recall the robot while it is performing a program in the pool. As is you have to wait for the program to finish or just fish the robot with a pole. I’ve seen another brand that had a remote control (kind of like the one for a TV) and it does work even while the robot is cleaning. Both of these cons are super minor, especially in my situation – more like “nice to haves” really. These could become more noticeable issues with a very large pool, but if you have one, you’ll probably going to be looking at either the Pro or Ultra models.I’ve had 3 different pool cleaners, and this one is by far the best. It’s pricey, but you will still save vs hiring a pool maintenance company and the 3 years full warranty offers peace of mind in case something goes wrong.

There’s no way around it. Compared with my benchmark Wybot C2 and C2 Vision, this AquaSense 2 has them both beat in build and features. For larger pools in excess of 2200 sqft, there’s just no question that the wider brushes, bigger battery and even speed make this bot the better choice. Unfortunately, when it comes to performance and value – something that I’ll expound upon shortly – I’m just not sure that the increase in convenience is really worth the premium design and price for the average consumer. After a few days of testing, here are the main PROS and CONS that I consider noteworthy, with reference to my benchmark bots whenever possible.>>> PROS <<<(1) BUILD and AESTHETIC+ If ever there was a hybrid between a tank and a race car, this would be it. Compared with the C2, this thing is a beast. Nice and long scrubbing brushes on BOTH sides of the bot (which helps with turning) and the access to the filter tray is just as good. It's probably double the weight though, but doesn't require a retrieval hook to place it into or take it out of the pool (even though you get one in the box), since everything is done by hand. Overall, you can tell that it's a premium bot compared to most others and the aesthetic is very attractive. Nothing rattles or feels flimsy so the build easily gets 5 stars.(2) BATTERY and RANGE+ Compared to the 4600 maH batteries on my C2's, this one is more than double the size. So with the Eco Mode on the app, you can literally leave it in a small pool for a week and schedule regular cleaning cycles every other day without having to take it out and charge it. I mean, that's just crazy. No other bot I've used has that capability. And it's more efficient too because of the larger leading edge. Moreover, the charging dock is also a step up from the Wybots. It's not exactly wireless because it still uses 2 contact plates on the bottom; but with no exposed charging ports to worry about, the build is pretty much water-tight. And as for charging time, it's only about an hour more than the C2 which is still very good for a battery that's more than twice the size. 4.5 stars for the power plant.(3) CONVENIENCE+ Obviously the charging dock is a huge plus because you don't have to keep plugging and unplugging a charging cable, but the overall ease of use is also better. No need to place the bot onto the bottom of the pool with a hook-on-a-pole because you literally just chuck it in. It takes about a minute or two for the ballast tank to fill just like on a sub, before it makes its way to the bottom and starts the cycle. Once it's finished (and not on Eco Mode), it'll blow the tank and float up to the pool's edge where you just grab it. Really cool to watch. Otherwise, having to fish out a waterlogged bot that could weigh as much as 50 lbs when full would've been awful. After that, you just dump and rinse the tray and you're good. In our test pool, it handled 2 full cycles (including the walls) without needing a recharge. So there's no arguing that the run-time is better than the C2.(4) NAVIGATION+ Not exactly sure how all of the 16 sensors on the front function, but I can tell you that it has no problems navigating over drains and around pumps. The treads are both wider, stronger and faster than on the Wybot, and it comes into contact with the bottom of the walls usually on a diagonal instead of head-on. The weird thing is that the random floor patterns it tends to execute after the initial circumference mapping remind me very much of the dirt-sensing AI algorithms on the C2V. Not that it's not effective, but multiple passes are definitely necessary to suck up larger debris at times.(5) SCHEDULING+ I mentioned the Eco Mode on the app already that lets you schedule regular cleanings, but there's also an Area Mode where you can choose to go over the entire pool (floor and walls) twice if you wish. The way I programmed it to do the floor twice and the walls once was the best option.(6) WARRANTY+ With a premium product you'd expect a solid warranty and you get it here - 3 years, which is better than every bot we've tested.>>> CONS <<<(1) REGULAR CALIBRATION- Unlike my C2's, you need to let this bot calibrate itself for a good 4-5 minutes on a flat surface every time you turn it on before throwing it into the pool. Really it's not a huge deal, but can be a bit annoying if you're in a hurry.(2) FILTER- Very strange how they put the handle in the middle of the filter tray (probably for better balance when it's heavy), because it kind of gets in the way when you try to empty it out. The filter walls also aren't as fine as the C2 (that uses a 2-stage system) so they tend to let out silt a lot more, making it not as effective at containing dirt and soil.(3) BT CONNECTIVITY- This really isn't a con since every bot that communicates with an app suffers from the same problem, but once the bot is underwater, it's basically on its own. You can only really program it with the app when it's above the water surface.(4) CLEANING PATTERNS- Unlike the C2 which uses far more regular patterns that you can customize on the app, this thing is kind of all over the place. It climbs up walls using a dedicated "N" pattern, so you can't make it go straight up and down, and the sheer size of it doesn't allow it to clean ledges unless you use the Multi-Zone mode. It holds to the walls just fine, but very shallow areas can be a problem because there's a minimum height for it to stay pinned to the floor. So when it comes to reaching smaller or tighter areas, the C2 has it beat.(5) PRICE- I would be remiss not to mention this, but it's certainly an expensive device when compared with more affordable options targetted at smaller pool owners. And if you want something that also cleans the surface of the pool (which this one doesn't do), you might as well just go with the pro or ultra models that do it all for slightly more.To summarize, the AquaSense 2 is still a good bot. The build quality is excellent, it's incredibly easy to use, it can tackle large pools and the cleaning performance is better than average - but not significantly better than my benchmarks. And that's the kicker. For the sake of brevity, I'd still go with the C2 for a pool under 2000 sqft because of its exceptional performance and value, but there's no question that this one has it beat in many other categories. Personally, the fact that it's self-contained and charges on a dock, uses a ballast tank and doesn't require a retrieval hook are its main advantages. Beyond that, a bot is a bot. You put it into the pool and let it do its thing for a couple of hours. After that, the pool is either clean or it isn't, case closed. And for light-to-moderately dirty pools, this thing does the job WELL, especially for larger debris. But is it worth the extra money? For very larger pools, probably, thanks to the bigger battery and larger brushes. For smaller pools, probably not, unless they're super dirty and need constant maintenance - another benefit to the extra battery capacity. But if I were strongly considering something of a premium caliber, I wouldn't rule out the pro and ultra models because of that surface cleaning capability. If you're going big, you might as well go big right. Pretty sure they use most of the same internal components, it's just that you don't have to manually skim the surface yourself. Bottom line is that the AquaSense 2 still gets a thumbs up, especially with that longer warranty. 4.25/5 overall.

  11. J&A

I am a person who really believe that there are some jobs that should be done by robot because it is boring and time consuming. Especially if you have to repeatedly to do it. Cleaning a pool definitely is one of it. (Honey, don’t ask me to do it now please :>)I have to say, this robot won’t clean up a pool quickly. If you only dump it in an hour before you want to enjoy the water on a hot day, it won’t work unless your pool is already very clean. It took me 3 runs, each last 2.5 hours to 4hrs depends on the mode I selected, to really clean up my pool at the beginning of this season. But I don’t care beacuse all I need to do is drop it in and last it run and go back to pick it up and charge it and do it again. Its take about 4 hours to fully charge it. After each run, the basket was filled with debris/sand. Oh I do want to mention that, I don’t like the way this basket is design because the handle is kind of making it a difficult to clean up the dirt inside. The machine itself is heavy. It is about 23lb. When its fill with water, its even heavier. But it has a smart function that will eject all the water out of the machine when it is parked so that machine won’t be too much heavier when I left it out.To make good use of this robot, I strongly suggest to use the app because it provides extra modes for cleaning. It has an area mode that allows you to focus on like wall only or floor only and control how many time on each area. If your pool has different depth level, the mulit-zone mode is perfect for that. It also has a eco mode that provide an weekly schedule timer. I just put the robot in the pool and it will clean the floor every 2nd day itself. This is really cool.Overall, I really like this pool cleaning robot. Even though it is a bit expensive but in the long run, I think it is worth it.
