Smaller than most, but nice for small areas
This firepit is the perfect size for a smaller deck or patio. It sit’s pretty low to the ground, but makes for a nice addition to any intimate gathering. The pieces seem to be of decent quality metal, but the overall weight of the pit isn’t too bad. It’s got a matte powder-coat finish which sadly scratches easily. I didn’t seem to scratch it to bare metal, so it might hold up to the elements and not rusting pretty well. For it’s size, its pretty deep and holds and decent amount of firewood. Cleaning the ash from the fires seems like it might be a bit of a chore. The bottom isn’t removable nor does it have an ash tray or dump door. I might have to pick up a small broom/brush and dust pan for cleanup. Putting this thing together was more than a notion. I’ve learned from assembling many things that paying close attention to the provided pictures is key. That worked with all of the steps until you get to the side start/screen pieces. Figuring out how these actually go together took quite a bit of time, but once I figured one out, the rest went smoothly. One tip that’s not in the instructions that would have helped me from the beginning of assembly is to not tighten any of the fasteners all the way. In fact, keep them pretty loose. This allows for easier manipulation and alignment of other holes and fasteners–especially when you get to the end and put the bottom plate in.

Absolute hell to assemble, I still have to punch an extra hole in the metal to get the last screw through it. Hours gone and years off my life. Buy a bowl or ring or anything with less parts. Eaxh star is a plate with 6 areas to slide into another piece. The powder coating makes struggling with the screws nearly impossible. Love yourself. Just say no.

Not worth the effort
Mine came with incorrectly punched holes, rearranging, realigning, etc. did not fix this. It required holes to be made or existing holes to be widened. The square pieces each have 3 connecting pieces that will probably come bent in some way so you will need to unbend them to make sure they each fit into the connecting pieces. This pit uses 2 different screw sets, i would have rather had to use just one. This pit wasnt worth the effort it took to assemble when a standard circle pit would be just as fine and probably last as long too. The metal is pretty inexpensive and will last maybe a year in my climate. I couldn’t recommend this based on my experience.

Octagon fire pit.
I don’t know why there’s others saying it’s hard to put together but I thought it was easy. I suppose some folk just aren’t cut out for basic assembly.Loosely, assemble the parts so it has a little flexibility to the assembly, finger tight. Once it’s all together go back and do a final tool tightening to secure everything. If the sides (with star cutout) are difficult to slide together Make Sure The Tabs Are Not Bent Down. You may need to pry the up a little because they cold squeeze down from the trip over seas.I wish it had a lid to place on top, but it’s nice just the way it is. I think the fire poker is dangerous because it super short and all steel (no isolated handle). The folks struggling to assembly the pit are likely to leave it over the fire and then grab onto it 15 minutes later, only to find it is now hekn HOT.It’s sturdy, not tipsy, and seems to be a good quality. I think it’s reasonable to get a few years of use out of it.

Very nice BUT needs 2 people to assemble the walls. I try to assemble the walls myself but now I understand the bad reviews as you setup 1 panel, the others will fall. I solve this by having a 2nd helping hand and we were able to assemble this quick without the walls falling.
