I almost fainted when I saw how much hardware and how many parts were involved in assembling this firepit, and putting it together did take a while, one hour and 20 minutes.It’s a good-looking design once assembled, but there is “slop” in the way the side panels attach with tabs in slots that makes aligning the side panels to the holes in the top and the base a bit tricky. I had to loosen some of the preliminary bolts in the base and top and jiggle a Phillips screwdriver into the holes to match them up.You will need your own Phillips (large) for tightening some of the fasteners. A small wrench is provided for others.I immediately noted how lightweight the base is compared to a one-piece, 2.28 mm (3/32″) cast-iron fire pit that I’ve had for four years. It looks like it will flex and jump with the heat of a fire in it. I should be able to test this once the current rainy front passes.It comes with a lightweight fire poker.The instructions are good and note an upper weight limit of 5 pounds for the wood added, roughly the volume of an 18 inch 4×4 made of air-dried Southern yellow pine. This is an inexpensive fire pit kit and in this case, you definitely get what you pay for in terms of build quality and difficulty of putting it together.The finished product, if you have the patience and handiness to get it put together entirely is not bad and will function as a decent fire pit for years.If you want a fire pit that is much easier to build without needing to employ a few of your own little fixes here and there, spend a few more bucks and get a better quality fire pit.If you like a challenge that eventually ends up in a functional product, this might be fun for you.

This fire pit is well made from quality materials and workmanship. It is easy to assemble and is a great value for the money. It will provide you with hours of enjoyment. Nice size for a small patio too.
