With proper care, your lotus seeds will grow into a healthy aquatic bonsai plant that blooms each year. Our seeds are carefully selected for their high germination rate and quality. Follow the steps below to grow your own lotus flowers at home:
How to Grow Lotus Flower:
- Scrape the seed with a file – revealing the cream-colored core. Do not file any of the core away or else your lotus will not grow.
- Place your seeds in warm water between 75 and 80°F (24 and 27°C). After a day of soaking, the seeds will sink to the bottom and swell to nearly twice their original size. Seeds that float are almost always infertile.
- Fill a 3 to 5 US gal (11 to 19 L) container with 6 in (15 cm) of deep soil. This size typically provides enough room for a young lotus to grow. Make sure the container you choose does not have any drainage holes.
- Remove seedlings from water once they are 6 inches (15 cm) long. Wait until the sprouts are at least 4 to 5 days old before transferring them to the potting container.
- Press the sprouted seeds into the soil about 4 inches (10 cm) apart. You don’t have to bury the seeds in the soil. Set them just on top, then brush a light layer of soil over them to secure them.
- Lower the pot into your pond. Lotus are aquatic plants, so the soil should always have at least 2 to 4 inches (5.1 to 10.2 cm) of water above it.

Happy with it. They are growing well.
Many people who rated this with one or two stars are just doing it wrong. Do the research, then do it right! All ten seeds sprouted within 3 days, but one separated from the seed husk. I placed it back in, but I don’t think it will make it. The other nine did just fine and are now planted and growing healthy and strong. I am happy with that. Honestly, I would have been happy with 6/10, so nine is great. They have broken through the soil surface and are just reaching the surface of the water today. I can’t wait to see how they do. EDIT: It’s 2 weeks later and the leaves started opening. These pics are just a few days apart. By tomorrow, there will be 5 more leaves open. Overall, very happy with the purchase!

THEY DONT GROW & DO WHAT THEY SAY THEIR SUPPOSE TO DO.
I bought my Lotus, and went by the directions, they have been in clean water as directed every 3- days to change to clean water. I’ve got them to grow you can see the leaves, NOBSPROUTS to put in the Aquatic cement/ soul they’ve been in the clean water for 2 and half months. Theyr in a Big Glass bowl, get plenty of sun, so far i have a seed and I can see leafs at the top that never bloom & NO WHITE SPROUTS to plant. It SHOULD NOT TAKE THIS LONG!!! They’re taking up room on my counter, and at this point I’m ready to throw them away!! VERY FRUSTRATED!!! Som flowered just dint do GOOD in UTAH. I’D LIKE A REFUND

They are growing
We have 7 out of 10 growing. We are still growing the seeds. They are about to pop open. It’s been fun watching them grow.

No pot
Product is misleading. It does not come with a bowl or soil. It is just the seeds.Only time will tell if the seeds bloom.
Hello, itâs me –
Harder than I thought.
Well, they came in great, I followed the instructions and every one of them died as soon as I put them in the special soil. They sprouted nicely but I just couldnât get them to grow.

Died in a fish tank
I followed the directions. Iâve been known to make anything grow, but these are something else. They sprouted really fast, but never made a lily pad or anything. They were alive for about 6 weeks and all died. They started in a tropical fish tank with a heater. They died out of no where. Good luck to anyone that get them to do more than make long stemmed weeds.

Hoping for the peace and tranquility
I started my seeds on April 1. It’s now April 29 and I already have second leaves. The instructions were not very helpful, but after checking several websites and a local greenhouse, I was able to figure it out.
