I love these string lights, they really add some pizzazz to my porch. I especially like that the bulbs are plastic as it makes them really easy to hang. Plus them being 100 ft long means I’m not having to connect multiple strings together to make it the whole way around my porch ceiling. They also come with a couple of spare bulbs which is super handy. These lights look so pretty at night and have really extended the amount of time I can spend reading on my porch swing. I have these on a timer and they come on at sunset and go off automatically 4 hours later.

Decent. Plugs not waterproof. Max string count is 3 not 16.
Plug has a 5 amp 125 volt fuse and a spare 5 amp fuse also inside the plug. This is because it uses thinner 20 gauge instead of 14 gauge wire for a 15/20 amp plug. 5 amps will support up to 600 watts instead of 1800 watts of strings. If each light is 1 watt, as described, 40 bulbs would support up to 15 strings, not 16 strings.However given the 15 strings is 1500 feet, that would be 30 ohms added to the circuit round trip, which is pretty excessive. A voltage drop calculator suggests voltage drop at 5 amps would be more than the voltage supplied at 1500 feet. In theory there’d be no voltage left after 12-13 strings.I suggest then stringing no more than a few of these together. I calculate a voltage drop of 5% over 300 feet at 1 amp, or 3 strings of these.So no more than 3 strings and staying within specs that an electrician would be willing to do.That leaves the next claim — IP65? I’m not going to submerge these in water to test, but the bulb holders do look like maybe they meet that claim. The plugs themselves though are not waterproof (which is ok for many people). They even have a slider to open up to expose the fuse with no gasket. Maybe IP44, but perhaps not even that. Be sure your plugs on the front and the back are both not exposed to weather directly. I have done so on my install.Other than that, the bulbs all worked and are a high quality and safe plastic. The basic product starts with five stars, but the advertisement affects my score.I removed one star for the incorrect advice for string count as I calculated above.I removed another star because the plugs are not waterproof, as somebody could make waterproof ends that could couple together safely, and they didn’t advertise that only the bulbs are waterproof.Also, it was packed as kind of a tangled mess and took longer to unpack it than install it. No stars down for that, just an observation. My wife side to be sure to note it in the review.

Great Patio Lightings
I purchased these outdoor string lights for my parents’ backyard, and I’m extremely pleased with them. Thereâs no need to worry about finding outlets or using extension cords. The build quality seems solid, though only time will tell how durable they are. One major plus is that these lights are lightweight compared to others Iâve owned that had heavy glass bulbs. The length is perfect for the space, and installation was a breeze simply hang them, power them on, let them charge for a day, and theyâre ready to light up at night. If you’re looking for excellent value without spending too much, these lights are a great option. Iâm thoroughly satisfied with them no complaints at all!

Affordable and long
Adding string lights to your house is just the chefs kiss. Most major developments now have some type of string light in public areas. It allows a soft light without a harsh spotlight. I’ve got these strung up around our shed and zigging and zagging through our backyard so that it is nicely lit at night until midnight. The bulbs are all plastic and shatterproof so these can strung around a pool if you have one without any worry. Connect them to a timer and you’re all set. I was able to add them on to an existing chain of lights using the AC power cord. You can’t tell the difference and the light matches the other brand. Haven’t lost any bulbs yet and it does come with a couple replacements.
