These are nice and were very easy to install on the house, and now my house has a different curb appeal than all the others on the street….the coating doesn’t last long if you live in an area that it rains a lot, but a spritz and rub down brings back that sheen.

Both up and down illumination with two bulbs. Looks good on our garage and at front door. Light is soft and pleasant. No glare in your eyes. Construction seems good. I used silicone grease on threads for top lens cover. Will see how it does through the rainy season ahead.

I am a residential electrician of over 25yrs and having installed literally hundreds of various light fixtures of all types, I can confidently say that these fixtures are better built than many other “designer” fixtures that go for 2x to 3x the price. The aluminum is not at all flimsy and the overall construction of the fixture feels solid. The finish is a matt black, so it will scuff easier than a gloss finish, but if you’re not too rough with them during installation, they should hold up just fine. There was zero issues with mounting them, and anyone reviewing these who says otherwise, simply doesn’t know what they are doing! I like the threaded on glass covers as this prevents bugs from accumulating inside the fixture, though it could (potentially) also trap moisture depending on your climate or where they are mounted outdoors. I would give a couple pieces of professional advice when installing these and that is: #1. to apply a small amount of anti-oxide like Deox or even Vaseline to both the threads of the mounting studs and the threads of the glass covers. This will help prevent the threads from seizing up and making it difficult or impossible to replace the bulbs (this is just a good practice for any type of mechanical thread that is exposed to the outdoors). #2. consider using halogen bulbs instead of LED. Even though they are not as energy efficient, I suspect that due to the sealed nature of the fixture that an LED bulb may not cool adequately and thus suffer premature failure. (though it is also equally likely that the aluminum body of the fixture itself may be able to adequately conduct the heat away from the LED and dissipate it to the surrounding air in spite of it being sealed. Personally, I’ll try LED first, and if they fail prematurely, I’ll switch to halogens instead)

These lights were purchased to replace fixtures on either side of my front door . We have larger bullets on the front and side of the house that we needed to complement. These were just the right size for the space and look great. Dual lightsâ¦up light and a down light. Exactly what I needed.
