Seed Needs Nasturtium Seeds Jewel Mix Multicolored Edible Flowers | 1.5 Ounce 350+ Seeds Tropaeolum Nanum Annual Flower Seed Mix | Bulk Jewel Nasturtiums for The Garden
$9.99
Grow a garden filled with these gorgeous Nasturtium flowers, from freshly harvested Tropaeolum majus flower seeds. Nasturtium Jewel Mixture will produce unique flowers, in an assortment of warm colors, such as red, yellow, gold and orange. The flowers themselves open up to a diameter of roughly 2 or 3 inches wide, forming 3 petals on the bottom and 2 on the top. The plants will reach a mature height of roughly 12 to 18 inches tall, and spread a good 12 inches wide. Categorized as an annual flowering plant, Nasturtium, Jewel Mixture will grow quickly from freshly harvested seeds. The plants will then bloom profusely through the summer months, later wilting with the first killing frost. Nasturtium seeds can be harvested at the end of the season, to regrow fresh plants the following year. The plants can often drop their seeds to the bare ground beneath, allowing new plant life to establish naturally, after the harsh temperatures of winter have passed.
Variety: Jewel Mixed Nasturtium, scientifically known as Tropaeolum nanum, is a compact variety of nasturtium, ideal for small gardens, containers, or borders.
Appearance: This variety features vibrant, jewel-like flowers in shades of red, orange, yellow, and sometimes mahogany. The flowers are slightly smaller than those of T. majus but are just as striking.
Growth Habit: Tropaeolum nanum grows in a bushy, dwarf form, typically reaching only about 12-18 inches in height, making it excellent for ground cover or in pots where space is limited.
Edibility and Uses: Both the flowers and leaves are edible, often used to add color and a peppery flavor to salads. They are also rich in vitamin C and can be used for their ornamental purpose in culinary dishes.
Quality: All Nasturtium seeds packaged by Seed Needs are intended for the current and the following growing seasons. All seeds are stored in a temperature controlled facility that is free of significant amounts of moisture.
Quantity: Seed Needs offers generous quantities. You can share with friends and family, or you can save the extra seeds until the following season, if properly stored.
Packets: Each seed packet displays an artful illustration of the variety to be grown, as well as detailed seed sowing information on the reverse side. They measure 5″ wide by 7″ tall.
Promise: Seed Needs will never knowingly supply GMO based seed products. The vast majority of our seeds are open pollinated & heirloom, with the exception of a few hybrids.
Germination: Seed Needs packets contain some of the freshest seed available. Direct from the growers. If sown correctly, you will begin seeing results in only a matter of days.
Freshness: All Nasturtium seeds are packaged in tear resistant and moisture resistant packaging. This keeps the seeds a whole lot fresher than the competitions selection!

Gorgeous!
I love nasturtium. I think the flowers are beautiful and the fact that every part is edible is just a plus. I’ve also found by planting nasturtium around my garden I get less slugs and caterpillars inside my garden while they nibble and enjoy this plant. Last year, I planted 50 seeds and the side of my garden was covered in beautiful flowers, so this year I went with 350 seeds. I planted the seeds 18 days ago and I already have 50% sprouting. This variety is new to me, but I am excited to get a new color around my garden. In the days since sprouting the size has been surprising and the growth rate is amazing. I can’t wait to see what my garden looks like by the end of summer.

These are not fussy flowers!
Nasturtiums thrive in poor soil and do not need fertilizer. In fact fertilizer will grow vigorous plants with large leaves that hide any flowers that bloom. These seeds produced a meager crop when I bought them five years ago, but every flower self-seeds. I stick a few seeds in pots every fall, but hundreds of self-seeders start popping up EVERYWHERE beginning in January (I live in the Bay Area in northern California), and every year there are many, many more.

Beautiful and beneficial
The best part about spring is the beautiful flowers! These seeds have been incredible with their germination rate. I feel like I just planted them yesterday and Iâm already seeing progress! I love keeping a variety of flowers around my home. These have so many great benefits too!

Seedlings are growing
I direct sowed outside. Sprouted quickly and I have many healthy-looking seedings. I will update if/when they flower.

NO GERMINATION!
Not a single germination!I have been doing Nasturtiums my whole life. The batch I received, 350 seeds yielded not a single germination. I thoroughly followed the directions, put the seeds in water for 24 hours, and did three different separate batches. Two outside, one inside. Two in a more drained soil, one in a soil mixed with potting mix. I kept it moist but not soggy. Full sun in Florida. Nothing. I guess I received a VERY old batch…

Long germination period
These took 17 days to germinate after soaking them for 24 hours. I planted two seeds and only one has sprouted so far. I know nasturtiums are notorious for taking forever to germinate. But theyâre hardy and take off quickly once they sprout!
